ddonnik17 Posted February 6, 2009 Report Share Posted February 6, 2009 im thinking about selling my f90bt and getting the D3. the f90bt is NOT accurate enough like the D1 (thats what I had until 4 days ago). the car arrow passes intersections before you do it! also, the f90bt causes my radar passport escort 8500 to go off Ka band EVERY 10-15 seconds. on top of that, it won't connect to bluetooth. i tried a motorola krazr, razr, blackberry curve, and blackberry pearl. NONE connect! i am so pissed about this unit like crazy! either i have a major defective unit, or this unit just sucks. overall, go with the D3!! Quote Link to post Share on other sites
carlsbad0331 Posted February 6, 2009 Report Share Posted February 6, 2009 I replaced my D3 with the 900 and I would not go back. The D3 is a nice unit... but there were 3 additional boxes that I needed to have installed under the dash to make it do what the 900 does by itself. I think that the 900 is just as accurate as the D3 for navigation, and I LOVE that I am able to change maps, add 3D buildings and modify the GUI on the 900. NONE of this was possible on the D3. None of the issues you seem to have are common. LOL, yeah the boot time is fine with me, im not in a rush! plus i learned here that this is common, so therefore no complaining. regarding the install, i did it myself, but i know what I am doing since i installed the d1, and the d3 before numerous times in my car or in others. installation was fine...i hope. i have NO idea why it triggers my radar. first i thought it was a lot of cops around all the sudden, but then even on back roads and in MY GARAGE...then i took out the unit, unplugged it, and drove the same roads as before, and NOT once did it go off! i just don't know what to do, im so depressed! i was sooooo happy gettin it and now all this! the bluetooth won't work, the gps isn't accurate, the 2D map never faces forward(i just don't know how to set it). and the radar issue! dammit...
