F90BT causes my Passport Escort Radar 8500 to go non-stop

Recommended Posts

For some reason, I don't can't figure out how or why, but as soon as I installed the F90BT into my car, it keeps on triggering my Passport 8500 radar to go off Ka band which is NOT an automatic door signal or anything. Ka band is 99% ONLY police n requires a high frequency in order to be triggered.

Does anybody have the f90bt and the 8500 escort and have the same problem?? please let me know....thanks

but the thing is, EVERYTHING works fine as soon as i unplug the whole f90. while plugged in, the radar goes off and now stays going off at Ka band the entire time. and it doesn't stop.

and they are not even close to each other or the gps antenna. must be the unit itself. does it like send out a bluetooth frequency? i turned it off (the bluetooth) but it still triggered the radar to go off

I have the same setup as you but do not have a problem. (8500 and 90BT) Before returning the unit I would try another radar detector which would be easier to do. If I had to bet on it I would say it is the radar.

yeah im actually gonna try another radar again. cuz my dad has the same identical one, and my girl has the 8500 x50. so if they don't go off, i will know about my problem.

yet i still think the unit is defective. because i tried 9 different phones, and none of the phones pick up the 90bt or vice versa. also, as of yesterday, it rebooted spontaneously while i was driving for no reason.
