erilude
I have the f900bt and I have the pioneer spade to usb/rca connection. My problem is every time I get in my car and my 80gb 5thgen iPod is in the glove box, it doesn't recognize it. So I have to unplug it and plug it back in then it takes like 7 minutes to update and access all of my music. It also doesn't start on the last song played and resets it to the first song on my iPod! Help Plz, is this a programing issue??
CamelTowing
Is your radio updated to firmware 2.0?
SATURNGUYONE
the usb connector is a common problem with this unit. try swaping out the cable and make sure your ipod has the latest update. seen this problem several time and pioneer is re-enginnering the cable to fix it. it a common problem. skicrave
If you do replace the cable, use Apple's Composite A/V cable kit. It's much higher quality than the POS that Pioneer supplies, and it is the same price.
SATURNGUYONE
also the apple cable will also allow for video out of an iphone or ipod touch.
skicrave
So does the Pioneer.
blackgold
Isn't the USB cable perm attached to the HU? Also, you say the f90bt will play video from the touch/iphone? Mine will not. the video button is grayed out. I am assuming it is due to the cable? If I buy the apple cable, will it recognize video then? Thanks, Brian
skicrave
Yes, the female USB connection is permanently attached, but the Pioneer or Apple Composite cable will plug into that. Do you have the Touch or iPhone, and which version of the software are you using?
blackgold
I am using a touch, my f90bt has the 2.0 update. Thanks Brian
fernanz73
I had the same problem out of the box...but you just have to go into video settings and change the input of av1 to ipod, it'll work, guaranteed!
blackgold
under av settings, I have the first one connected to Ipod.
skicrave
What firmware is your Touch running? IIRC, one of the updates Apple issued killed video playback from the Touch. Try doing a search, I thought that issued got resolved, but I don't know for sure.
SATURNGUYONE
as far as i know from talks with apple, there is and excuse the spelling, an authincation chip in the actual apple cable. i tried a pac ic-av2 on my home tv to get video out and didnt work. used the appl cable with my 32g touch and got a video signal. im tellin you it something in the cable. if all else fails apple is great on returns so if it dosent work you have nothing to really loose excep some time. i will test it on a 90bt when i do an install later today. blackgold
I bought an apple cable Friday, installed it, still no video. Pulled it out and took it back for my 40 dollars back. Still no video with my touch.. :/ Brian
Heftiger
I have the problem of the Ipod not being recognized as well. I think it may be a problem with the female USB connection. Lately I've been able to "refresh" the connection by just replugging in the USB connection (not the Ipod connection). I thought this might be a problem with the A\V cable until last night when I was trying to use my USB thumb drive. When I rebooted the unit, the drive was not recognized; just like the Ipod. I replugged it in and it worked.
