Nevadadrifter
Really? Wasn't there another thread on this just last week? Your antennas need to be mounted on the outside of your car. From what you are describing, it sounds as if you are tucking the antenna between the inside of your roof and your headliner. This method, as you have discovered, will work very, very, very poorly, if at all. Both XM and GPS antennas will need a clear view of the sky to work. Your roof is currently obstructing that view, hence your signal will be very weak and will frequently cut out.
1loudls
the gps antenna can be placed in the car, either on the dashboard or under a dashboard panel if it is plastic only, metal will block the signal. the XM antenna placement is a little more important because there are fewer sats to get info from
tnuhn
also make sure they are at least 3 inches away from each other.
