  1. If it comes to that, please post back and let me know how that has worked out. I'm willing to do the same thing if it works.
  2. Well it worked for about a day.... Right back to where I started, sort of. I'm having the same issue with the audio cutting out, and the random high pitched almost Morse code-like tones, but now it is happening on the right channel. I have tried using a different iPod, and while I do not get the high pitched tones, I do have the same issues with audio cutting out. So now I'm completely baffled. If it was a hardware problem with the f900 itself, the affected channel would still be the same, even with a new iPod cable, right? I've checked the connectors on the old pioneer iPod cable, the new
  3. Well there's been a lot of talk going on about the problem with iPod audio cutting out on one channel. Things started off just fine with my Pioneer IU230V and my F900. Then occasionally, I would noticed that audio was cutting out on the left channel. A quick unplugging of the iPod would usually resolve the problem. This would happen once, maybe twice a week at first, however the problem persisted and became so frequent that I ceased using my iPod entirely. I went to best buy, looking to purchase a Monster brand cable, but my local store was out, so I settled on a Rocketfish (Best Buy's ow
  4. Great, now I'm confused. I have the Pioneer IU230V cable currently running with my iPod, but am having issues with the right channel cutting out frequently. I was just headed out to pick up a new cable, but I might have to wait. Apple is going to be updating their iPod lineup early next month, and I was planning on picking up a new touch (as long as a 64gb version is released) which is rumored to be running the same software as the iPhone 3GS. Again, these are all just rumors coming out of the iPod community right now, but if I am reading this thread correctly, the iPhone 3GS is only working w
  5. After reading a little bit more here, it seems like it may not just be the Pioneer cable, and maybe not entirely a hardware issue. Some people have had to hardwire their A/V cables to the inputs to ensure a successful connection. I have heard of people having success with various cables, but the two that stand out are Apple's own iPod cable, and Monster. It seems that more people are reporting this problem after the 3.0 update, which I have yet to install. Whatever you choose, you will want to make sure it has a TIGHT connection. I have not used Monster's cables with my stereo, but I do h
  6. Are you using the Pioneer iPod cable? If so, that's your issue right there. If it isn't doing it already, in addition to the annoying noise when the track changes, you will soon lose all audio on either the left or right channel. The Pioneer cables are pure crap. So it's a good news/bad news situation. The good news is, there's nothing wrong with your software, and it's a relatively easy fix. The bad news, you're gonna have to shell out some extra $$$ for a new cable.
  7. Really? Wasn't there another thread on this just last week? Your antennas need to be mounted on the outside of your car. From what you are describing, it sounds as if you are tucking the antenna between the inside of your roof and your headliner. This method, as you have discovered, will work very, very, very poorly, if at all. Both XM and GPS antennas will need a clear view of the sky to work. Your roof is currently obstructing that view, hence your signal will be very weak and will frequently cut out.
  8. When I refer to in-car internet, I'm not talking about giving the driver the ability to check his facebook page or watch a youtube video while driving. Not the internet as we currently use it. I'm thinking more along the lines of software that will read you your emails on your way to work, and voice recognition software that would allow you to compose a response. Customizable audio news feeds would allow you to choose which stories you want to hear. Stock tracking software could tell you exactly how much you gained or lost in the market yesterday. Web based maps would allow street data to be u
  9. I was wondering the same thing. This is pure speculation on my part, but I'm wondering if the problems that seem to be so prevalent in the F-series are the driving factor in the low prices. I first came along a photo of the f900 in another automotive forum. Some googling of "f900bt review" brought up some pretty horrible reviews. Granted, many of the issues people were having were cured, or at least improved with the 2.0 update, and the hours of hard work by some of the dedicated modders here have made the F-series an even more impressive product, but most people do not want to buy a product t
  10. I don't have a definative answer for that, but I was told the same thing by a rep at Crutchfield about the stock amp in my Jeep. That's why I opted for the F900BT over the F90BT.
  11. Stupid question probably, but has anyone tried contacting Pioneer directly to see about having these features added to future firmware updates? If so, how has Pioneer responded to the user feedback?
  12. I just ordered from Crutchfield a few days ago, so I'm still waiting for the system to arrive. Having a tracking number is like being addicted to crack when you're waiting for something you're excited for! I keep checking the status every few hours seeing if anything has changed! I have the upgraded factory stereo with the subwoofer. That's where the PAC C2R-CHY4 comes in. Without it, I would lose access to the existing amp/sub. The car came with factory installed Sirius, but I have been an XM subscriber since it's launch, and intend on staying with them. I was told that it "may" be possib
  13. I just ordered an F900BT through crutchfield for my 08 Jeep Liberty. The Liberty and the Nitro are the same vehicle with only slight changes to the design. I would recommend going to crutchfield.com and entering your vehicle type. When you select your stereo, the website will automatically provide a list of which components you will need for installation. Here is a list of what I needed. AVIC F900BT $899.99 PAC C2R-CHY4 Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep Radio Adapter $64.99 PAC SWI-PS - Pioneer and Sony Steering Wheel Radio Control Interface $74.99 Pioneer GEX-P920XM XM Satellite Radio $80.99 Pion
