tjpitches Posted October 17, 2006 Report Share Posted October 17, 2006 hey guys. great forum. i've had this problem with the D1. for many months i had no problem ... when i turned off the engine, and then OPENED the door, the unit would shut off. cool. just what i want. lately, and not ALL the time, when i turn off the car, and open the door, the unit STAYS ON! sometimes i'll run into the store, come back in a minute, and the radio is STILL on. eventually, after a few minutes, it will go off -- so i don't lose battery power or anything like that. any ideas? is there adjustment? otherwise i was thinking it may be a power issue with my ford explorer? any suggestions appreciated. When it doesn't shut down try opening up one of the other doors. It sounds like the door pin in the drivers door is either going bad or the wire may be broken in the door. tjpitches Posted October 17, 2006 Author Report Share Posted October 17, 2006 good suggestion ... i'll check it with ford. the feature i'm talking about is DELAYED ACCESSORY on my ford. it allows you to turn off the ignition and pull out the key. as long as you don't open the door, the radio/accessories will continue to be functionable. (power windows is another) trouble is, when i open the door, it doesn't power off. i'll ask ford about this. Quote Link to post Share on other sites
