shard
For those of you that are keeping the ipod in the glovebox, have you found a good solution to keep it from sliding around in there? The connection between the ipod and the headunit tends to get interrupted when I make quick turns.. and I can't use the ipod again unless I unplug/replug it or turn off/on the ignition. I'm thinking of just sticking velcro on it, but wanted to see if there was a better solution out there, thanks
kevin1488
stick it in between all those McDonalds napkins you save...
shard
Not a bad idea.. but I'd have to make at least 10 more trips to McD's in order to gather enough napkins to make a snug fit. I'm in search of a quicker solution.
kevin1488
well just get all the ones you need in one trip instead of 10 you could save gas too... The Velcro idea would work fine i think...
shard
They aren't too thrilled when all their napkin holders are emptied at once I was thinking more along the lines of some kind of ipod.. dock.. thing I could use for the glovebox. Do those exist?
kevin1488
i dont think so but you could get one of those universal cell phone holders that when you squeeze in on the sides they move in and out and you could maybe use that but those are kinda bulky but look around and see.. beans
I just put mine in a padded case and it just sits on the bottom. Probably not as secure as it should be, but I think its enough to keep it safe.
1loudls
i took out my glove box and put two little slots in the top, then i put a strip of elastic through the slots and tied them together at the top (outside of the actual glove box under the airbag) and put it back together. the result is now there is an elastic holder that secures my Ipod to the top of the glovebox with almost no extra cable or nothing can slide into it, (my glovebox is a little different than most, instead of the entire thing moving when you open it, its more of a stationary box, and the door is the only part that moves) eventually i want to make a slide in dock for it
madsonp
Try these guys out. I bet you could find something that'll work for you here. http://www.proclipusa.com/default.asp
blueiedgod
Depends on the car. CR-V, at least Gen 2.5, has a CD cubby under the double Din radio. It has rubber non-skid lining. I keep mine in there, as well as a bunch of SD cards with stuff I downloaded recently and did not feel like synching the archaic iPOD/iTUNES mambo jumbo.
TheFarq
I have one from a company called Dice. They make very good docks, and the one I have has an ipod connector port on the bottom that allows you to connect the pioneer cable to. It also has a separate video out port on the bottom. I believe it is a 3.5mm port.
CatchMeIfYouCan631
In my S10, there was a CD holder in the center console, I made a iPod holder out of MDF, used a router to make the iPod spot, and it sat in there snug. You can get creative and do something like that in the glovebox. And a good thing to use would be those white plastic iPod slots that the iPod came with in the box.
