NextGen
I am in the middle of installing my AVIC-Z1. I have the ND-BC1. I haven't open it yet as I decided to do a little more research on cameras as this camera is not very stealth (I originally bought it for another car). I came across this online in the owner's manual: Do not wash your car with an automatic car wash or high-pressure water as it may result in water entering the camera or the camera falling off. This comes as a shock to me. Do all cameras have this limitation? I typically wash my car at home but when I take it to the dealer they run it through an automatic car wash.

whtcrxghst
I apparently never bothered to read the manual because I have gone through the car wash dozens of times and never had a problem
DamonH
I'm sure that's referring to the self service car washes with the high pressure sprayers. Some people don't know those will take paint off your car if you get them close enough, so I can see someone trying to "clean" their camera lens by spraying it 5 inches away. I'm sure it's a CYA thing.
