cacab
Every dc power line has a + and - wire. But I don't really get your idea. How do you want to make use of that wire?
Nick.
i want to hardwire the power source so i dont have the car charger sticking out of the socket.
sallysky
No because the DC supply changes the voltage from 12V (car battery) to 5V for the device. What you need to do which is what I did was to add a circuit to your fuse box and add a power socket and then hide the connection behind your dash.
cacab
Exactly! That part, that is sticking out of the socket is a dc stepdown converter, as the Avic needs 5V to operate, and the socket has a 12V output.
