ill.die.trying
i was looking at my speedcam text and found something interesting, so i went to the hacks section and found this I finally got the speed warning working, i guess it doesn't work over "fly over" mode, but when I'm actually driving, it DOES WORK. I got the speed camera database from http://www.trapster.com in csv, it is a really good database, very accurate at least on my area. It is daily updated by the own users, positions get voted so they increase the level of confidence of that camera type/position, anyways i think it is a good database and really easy to convert to IGO format. By the way if anyone wants the file that i converted from Trapster, let me know. The file include cameras from all over the mainland 48-states of US, i have only verified my area and it is looking very accurate over here. This is user collaboration based database, this means users add, modify, delete camera position and type (static, redlights, possible hidden police points, etc) I changed the classification to comply with the igo format (speed camera = '1' static, redlight = '3' redlight cameras, and hidden police points = '5' mobile cameras) this data base is as good as many user collaborate to build it, so, people start creating your FREE account and lets build a nice speedcamera database for our AVIC... I'll try to convert/update the database as soon as i can, since the site is constantly updating. Installation: - copy both txt files to the /IGO/content/speecamera/ folder on you avic, while you are in testmode. (they are already converted to IGO format) - Restart the unit. it will take a little longer to start up (only the first time) since the unit has to build its own data based on the content of txts (it will do it by itself, so nothing to do here, just wait about 2-4mins) - test if you can see the camera on the map. Note: I have only tested the location on my are and looks good, let me know how it looks for your area? this is a part of my speedcam.txt file -79.411198,43.665132,7,66,0,0-114.108166,51.143226,7,66,0,0 -114.092615,51.143829,7,66,0,0 -97.133678,49.901676,7,66,0,0 -79.674453,43.675205,7,66,0,0 -79.583915,43.609291,7,66,0,0 -79.754884,43.734798,7,66,0,0 as you can see, the type is set to 7?but based on this qoute there should only be I haven't seen Trapster files yet, but the iGO format is very simple:Header: X,Y,TYPE,SPEED,DIRTYPE,DIRECTION X - Longitude (E/W) Y- Latitude (N/S) TYPE: 1 - Static camera 2 - Traffic Light 4 - Section Camera 5 - Mobile Camera SPEED - speed limit of the camera DIRTYPE: 0 - All directions 1 - One direction (as per Direction field) 2 - Both directions (DIRECTION and opposite)[/color]DIRECTION - Camera angle. 0 = North, 180 = South, etc. I imagine that iGO will combine TXT files you give it. It converts them all to internal format anyway... PS Just looked at Trapster files posted here -- looks exactly like what we need... could this be the culprit that's causing reboots and not being able to set mobile camera settings? let me know what you guys have on your speedcam.txt
diaftia
Hey IDT- I have my speedcam.txt file included in my mod pack. I haven't had complaints of reboots and in fact people have said it fixed their reboots. Maybe that reason matches your findings because my file is good and they are replacing a bad one? Feel free to grab it from my thread to take a look. I would do it myself but I am taking a night off from coding (doing this from my phone before going to sleep) and keeping the wife happy. viewtopic.php?f=34&t=26446
BorisM
7 is mobile camera for Hungary, I believe. 6 is railroad crossing. Also, NNG keeps adding more standard types and there are advanced user-defined types as well (i.e. in Yuri's skin).

chernobylite
I'm no expert at this by any means but here's what I did. I downloaded the list of cams and using exel changed them all to type 3 (we only have red light cams here), set spped to 20, and set direction and angle to 0. Then I changed the file from cvs back to txt and loaded it into content. After reboot the cams all show up and when I open any of them to edit they show as the red light only graphic with no speed setting and alert as such. Maybe the graphic for a red light cam isn't correct and what is thought of as a mobile cam is really the red light cam. That's what my system thinks when the data is set to type 3 at least. I wish someone would explain what each of those iGO camera graphics really represent.
