garylthompson Posted September 17, 2009 Report Share Posted September 17, 2009 I've had a F700Bt for about 2 weeks and really haven't gotten far from home so I don't know if the problem was there before or after I updated to 3.01. But when I get on the interstate say I-71,I route it to go into Louisville.....seems to work but it takes me off the interstate at EVERY exit. I know for a fact I don't need to be getting off so it reroutes me to the next exit............finally when I get about 5 miles from my destination it leaves me alone. I've had 2 other handheld units and never had any problems. I've set destination to " easy" , "fastest", " etc, makes no difference..............any suggestions? I flashed it back to 2.0 following the great post here.... then did the updates to 3.0 and 3.01 and it did the same thing. Routing was nuts, taking me off all the main roads etc etc. I flashed back to 2.0 again and this time downloaded the x910bt.zip from another source..............I thought it was working.... Everytime I've flashed it to 3.0 or3.01 it appears to work great, all buttons work and it looks fantastic but when I route something its liable to take me on back roads and then back onto Interstate and then back roads again. I've changed all the setting.... easy/ fastest/ economical etc still does the same thing. When I flash it back to 2.0 or 2.06 routing is back to correct but I don't want 2.0..... I want 3 Anyone else had this problem............apparently not...... I 've installed 3.0 at least 5 times now and everytime it appears to be working till I set a route and then poof it takes me on back roads again. Quote Link to post Share on other sites
mtulbert Posted October 5, 2009 Report Share Posted October 5, 2009 Gary, Had the same problem as you.... What is really weird is that it happened in the Austin TX area but worked everywhere else. Perhaps some bad map data???? That was my first issue with this and I posted on the forum but have not heard anything back. Hope they can resolve this issue. Newman Posted October 5, 2009 Report Share Posted October 5, 2009 it is the map data. i HAD the same issue here in the DC area on Route 270 when I had an F900 but ever since I got the X910 with new software it doesnt do it anymore. i know this doesnt solve your problem but i wanted to chime in with my experience. it is the map data and unfortunately i dont think there is anything you can do. the upside is that it is most likley just that one road and should be reliable most everywhere else. So I gather from you guys input that you think its the new maps? After trying 3.0 and 3.01 at least and I mean at least 6 times and from different sources I always had the same problem with the crazy routing. I currently am using 2.06 and am going to leave it there, it works fine ,its not as pretty as 3.01 but its solid as far as routing goes. I just don't want to waste another 30+ hours trying to figure it out. Maybe we could try the new maps with 2.06 or use the old maps with 3.01? I'm not sure if they are compatible but sometime when I want to "waste" another 30 hours or so I'll give it a try. I installed Leet Launcher 3.0 on an SD card and was very impressed with his programming and the maps work... there were a few minor inconveniences but overall IGO 8.3 "came with leetlauncher", worked like a charm and was very pretty. As soon as he comes out with some fixes and updates I'll prob go with it permanently....its that nice, really is and the cool thing about it is it doesnt muck up the onboard programming. The maps I would like to replace it, but I do not know, because I always rebootol. The maps are the same (8.0) device. What can be done to change the maps to know? garylthompson Posted November 1, 2009 Author Report Share Posted November 1, 2009 Yeah, well you are partially right..... after trying like I said 6 times the only way to make it rout correctly was going back to version 2................. just this week I reinstalled 3.01 and dl'ed the newest 2009.6 version of maps and now it is "pretty" and it routes correctly . So I guess the previous poster was on the right track in assuming it was the version of the maps that was causing the problems. I think he said his was doing the same thing in Austin Texas which mine was doing for Louisville......... again update to 2009.6 maps and its perfect....................thanks guys Quote Link to post Share on other sites
