shawnmos
I believe the F900 can play divx files so what's stopping the F700 from doing so? I'm guessing just licensing issues correct? Can this be overridden?
FallenOne
Uhh, i think it can already dude.... and i know it can play a wide range of AVI encoded files too.... if you go into AVRes it has a Divx codec setting file and such.
shawnmos
Hmm... really? I tried to play some off disc before and it didn't work.
dianebrat
Don't play it with an optical disc, test the files in question on an SD Card. The F700BT doesn't "officially" play files that way, but you'll find some do work. It's also important to remember that what they're talking about are "official Divx certified files" and that many files that people refer to as "divx" are just xvid and other files in wrappers, not DRM containing licensed" Divx" files
astromanluca
I think it works once you have the 3.0 update installed. I did the update last night and played some AVI videos without any problems. Before the update, it really didn't work with anything. I don't know how those videos were encoded exactly, but they do work now. Only thing is the player is pretty spotty. It can be choppy when the playback controls are visible, and the controls are very limited. Not really practical, but it's a fun little feature to show off to your friends (especially if you have a software bypass so you can play movies while driving).
