F90BT "Startup in Progress" problem 3.01

Recommended Posts

I have scoured this forum for a difinitive answer for this question.

After updating to 3.01 following all direction I get the "startup in progress" and rebooting every 5 minutes.

I used winrar to unzip the x910 files in Vista

I tried 3 different SD cards

I tried the included ezrider and multiple others that were posted here

I tried this more than a dozen times with the same results

I'm not a noob and have done many other successful mods in the past, but this is frustrating me.

Many people with the same question here, but no answers

Did anyone ever update, have this problem and actually fix it without downgrading and giving up?

Did you upgrade the WinCE version?

Why did you install the hacked ezRider to upgrade to 3.01? That isn't part of the upgrade. That is part of the hack to use newer maps or certain mods.

Did the 3.0 upgrade work fine, and did it stop working after you installed Pioneer's 3.01 upgrade?

Be more specific about your steps, you were vague/

I followed this instruction thread http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=25751

I used all the files posted there and followed instructions to the T with no problems with the install

I used winrar to unzip the downloaded files

But the startup message is still there

You didn't answer some of my questions. Please re-read my reply and then reply again.

I had the 3.o upgrade hack already done last june and it did work

I downloaded the 3.01 910x upgrade from pioneer website

I unzipped it with winrar

I followed the link above and upgraded my WinCE with the files supplied from pioneer

That emptied my "my flashdisk" folder except for the basics

booted up with testmode

then copy and pasted all the files from the pioneer x910 update

after that, the radio didn't work, so I put back my original data folder with the radio stuff

Now radio works fine but nav not so good...

The x910 update does have a file called ezrider.exe init

You really messed up.

The 3.0 update you said was already done to your unit in June, you were only supposed to copy the LPUE080 folder to a SD card and then boot the unit to perform an automatic update. You were not supposed to delete anything in the flash disk, update WinCE or anything else.

Now, re-get the x910bt.zip file and restore the whole flash disk on top of what you have now and see if the unit boots properly.

Now I re-installed the original 3.o hack that I was using.

I did notice that the system version says

Map 1.0006

Ver 2.006

I am running the old ezrider though

BTW: "startup " reboot is now gone

I tried the LPUE080 file and the system boots up but doesn't see the update - no auto start

the LPUE directory is in the root of the SD card? Go ahead and format the card FAT32 to make sure its done right then re-extract the files from Pioneer's website so the SD card,

As long as the unit is acting right, I wouldn't worry so much about what version it says you're running.

Are you sure the X-update is what you wanted? Pioneer says that the x-version firmware will sort of work, but not really... it obviously isn't official or it would be on the updates page on the f-series webpage.

I was trying you use the new maps and 3.0 interfaces that are out now

I formatted a new SD card with FAT32 and loaded LPUE080

It's the only file on the card

No luck

file or directory?

LPEU080's directory should have 510 files from it. Does yours?

I don't think you've really kept up with whats been going on in the F series 3.0 hacks lately.

YUP,

The directory has exactly 510 files

I think I'll just pay the $120 to get to 3.0 and newer maps

I must be stupid or something, I thought other people were putting the X910 updates on the F series on this thread

http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=25751

You're not stupid

I put the x910bt.zip contents on my F700BT to get to 3.0 then used Pioneer's X910BT update to get to 3.01 and didn't have any of the troubles you're having.
