vwgtiking
ok, installed the avic d3 on sunday, all is working fine, even done the bypass. In standstill , under the connection status, the installation postion says "ok", but when i start moving the unit says "excessive vibration". Is this something to worry about? as the unit thinks its not moving, when in fact i am? also my car is lowered by 40mm and is on 18" rims. So the ride, is slightly rougher than standard. I have also noticed my speed pulse is 0, even when moving along with the handbrake saying "on", is this normal with the bypass done? or should i at least get a speed reading? BuffaloSS
If your speed pulse is 0, you do not have the VSS wire hooked up. It's not 100% necessary, but it will make the gps track more accurately. I don't know if that has anything to do with the excess vibration, though.
vwgtiking
Where is the vss wire? is it in the iso plug? should it read 0 with the bypass? GPS seems pretty accurate and picks up 7/8 satellites. Excessive seems to have gone, for now, after resetting the 3d calibrations
high powder
The bypass allows the VSS wire to be hooked up and read normally without locking out the system (Nav, Phone, Video) when in motion. So, yes, you should hook up your VSS and be getting a speed pulse even with the bypass done. The VSS will give you much better NAV results. Search the forum for the location of your VSS depending on your year, make and model of vehicle.
