siesel
This is a cross post from the AVIC-Z110 section.. I see there is a lot of dicussion on maps here so here is my post.. I am about to buy and install the Avic-Z110 and have read in these forums that the maps are not necessarily correct in some cities. I have read in other sections of this forum that others have downloaded and use maps by Navteq (which is what garming uses). Has anyone here used other map files besides what is comes out of the box from Pioneer?

I have read in other sections of this forum that others have downloaded and use maps by Navteq (which is what garming uses). Has anyone here used other map files besides what is comes out of the box from Pioneer? Yes, I borrowed the Navteq maps for three days. There are a few differences in detail. For instance if you are on a street with an overpass the teleatlas will show the bridge while Navteq shows a flat road. Navteq shows the county road shields which is nice. Overall I more pleased with Teleatas, plus I was able to purchase it legally with the 3.0 update.
abb1
Keep in mind that the Avic Z110 CANNOT BE MODDED as it does not run on Windows CE. You will not be able to install maps on this using Testmode! If the Z110 could be modded, then everyone here would have one, especially me !

TimboZero
This is f-series cathegory:/ It's called the AVIC F10BT in the UK if that makes you happier ?
VBLUE42
Nevertheless the F10BT is the same unit as the Z110BT so what you can and cant do with the Z110BT applies to the F10BT. This unit actually has nothing to do with the F series at all.
