2003 Altima WITHOUT Bose and D2 install

Hi, I have a 2003 Altima WITHOUT the Bose system. I'm looking to put a D2 in with the TraficNav. How difficult is it to get to the speed sensor wire and the reverse light wire?

 

I want to do the bypass so I can use all the features of the D2 while in motion. I can ground the parking brake wire and add the additional wire to the harness and ground that in order to do the bypass. So if I can get to the VSS wire and reverse wire with no issue, I can save the $275 the local Tweeter is looking to charge for the install. Thanks in advance for your help.

VSS is blue/yellow behind the instrument cluster, for reverse try green/white under the driver's door sill or in the kick panel.

D@mn. Thanks for the information, I was hoping I could use the Pink speed signal wire on the radio harness.

If the Altima had speed sensitive volume, or there is a VSS wire IN the radio harness, you can use that.

Thanks for all the help folks. I ordered the D2 , XM NavTraffic and all the crutchfield goodies. I will post pictures (or questions) when the install is done. On last things, it appears from the forum the VSS wire is not a necesity, if that is the case, I will just skip that step and do the bypass.

If you can get it at the radio harness why not just hook up the vss? It will help with the accuracy, and besides it's right there.

True. And if it is there I will definately hook it up. It appears to be a lot of confusion about whether the wire is in the harness. If it is there, it will be connected. Having to ground it to the chasis will make it easier to get a secure, good ground.
