Clintoxication
I just had the Z100BT installed in my 2001 VW Golf GTI, however, the installer was unsure where the vehicle speed sensor wire is to connect it to the navigation. Anybody know where this wire is located for my care or where to find out? I have searched with no luck and also tried calling VW to see if they knew but also no luck. Thanks in advance. NFrazier
Where do you guys go for installation? These people sound like retards. Green wire behind the cluster Pin-28 of 32-pin plug. Not responsible for you fucking shit up.
Clintoxication
Thanks. I have heard that it should not be done for VWs as it could cause issues and/or destroy the car's BCM. Any truth to this or know anything about that? Sorry for the late reply...
Pogigreg
The pulse wire doesn't need to be used.
NFrazier
The VSS should be hooked up. It serves a purpose which is to aid the GPS signal (along with the Gyro). No that is not true; I've experienced no problems what-so-ever with any dubs that I've hooked them up on, including my own.
VBLUE42
If its there it should be connected.
Pogigreg
When I was talking to Pioneer, trying to figure out the Gremlins on my first unit, Kevin the trouble shoot tech told me that in the D1's and D2's the VSS wire was necessary. Even though the wire is on the harness, it wouldn't hurt not to use it. He also told me that Al and Eds Autosound, their authorized distributor don't connect it either. He all but in so many words told me not to expect that wire on future models. Remember, Tom Toms and Garmins don't have have any such VSS wire.
Ferendon
Metra Axxess P/N XSVI-9003-NAV provides VSS and P.Brake through CANbus, right at the module. No chasing wires to get what you need. Any good shop should have been able to look up the wire info, or should at least know to use the correct module.
