savora
Hi, This may be a silly question, but I am interested in purchasing the N3. My understanding from looking at the website it that the DVD is needed for navigation. If you want to listen to CD then you have to switch out the DVD for the CD. If you are listening to a CD and want to find a point of interest, you have to stop listening to the CD, switch out the CD, insert the DVD and then search. To me it seems very time consuming and impractical. Am I wrong? Thanks
Razorback_Fan
It does seem that pioneer could have made a dual slot or have the AVIC download the disc onto an onboard hard drive or something. I'm new to the unit as well but I have the same question as you. I'm going to get SAT that way I can leave the nav disc in.
sportsfan21
If you want the dual slot, buy a D2. If you want it to have a harddrive, buy a Z1. They made options, unfortunately, they aren't options if you only have a single din opening.
bling121
You can put the navi disc in and type the destination and then take it out to put the cd in...it will store that one destination but if u need to change routes etc u have to put it back in
madmanfrommars
You also have the option of getting an external CD changer.
