black_sedan
I purchased a used N2 and the solder points have been scratched completely off. I dropped some solder down there and it didn't do the trick. Is there anything else I can do? PS. Anyone with an N2 don't care to watch dvd's while in motion want to trade me? Or anyone want to buy this setup??
black_sedan
Ok I went out and bought a circuit pen and still no luck. I got it to play dvd's for a good 40 minutes when I hit the reset button. But that only lasted for that 40 minutes. Is it possible if i took the unit apart and jump the two pins by doing the mod on the reverse side of the board??
cntrylvr79
I don't think that would be possible. From what I remember the circuit board is dual layer and I don't think those points go all the way through the board. I could be wrong though. It's been a very long time since I took an avic-n apart. black_sedan
can anyone confirm? do you think I can do the N1 solder mod to my N2? do you think it would have those two points?
kaotek
Did you ground the parking brake...even though the two point is already solder together.. you still need to ground the parking brake to get it to work. I could be wrong.. check or confirm it before attempting it. and Look around to see how to ground it.
black_sedan
I have already grounded the parking lead wire.

black_sedan
I'm going to attempt this hopefully tonight. Hopefully the N2's board is the same as the N1
black_sedan
I just tried the N1 bypass mod. The unit worked briefly and stopped and blanked out. The only way it would respond is if I hit the reset button and even then it just opens and closes and continue to blank totally out again. HELP!!!!!!
kaotek
did you use the correct two point..Is the n2 board the same as n1.. if so go redo and follow this http://www.eatmorepork.ca/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&p=
black_sedan
I didn't care to compare the whole board, just the section of concern, but when I did compare, it was the same. Yes I used those two points. Maybe it's shorting out hitting the top plate some how? Hopefully I get off of work and finish most my homework early so I can reattempt this. wish me luck.
