rao_94583
I'm about to install an X-910BT in my car, and have read posts about defeating the parking brake interlock. Seems easy enough, and I'll probably do it (if only to avoid yet another splice into the car's wiring harness), but does anyone know *why* this technique works? From the installation instructions for the unit: " Light green lead ... must be connected to the power supply side of the parking brake switch" and: " ... keep Audio Mute lead free of any connections [if not using equipment with mute function]" Why doesn't it work to simply ground the light green lead? How could it possibly matter where the mute lead is connected? I'm confused ... -Arun
sdetweil
you moved the Mute wire to a different socket, right? its an undocumented oin, that when grounded along with the parking brake overrides the internal controls.. sam
