cntrylvr79
Did the whole install myself, been doing high-end custom install for almost 20 years, now. I remember when Rockford Fosgate amps used an audio sense on their speaker-level inputs to turn on. I'm old. Wow I saw one of those amps once. It was in the junkyard. jimmy303
That was the PAR-220, I believe. It had a little box with bass and treble 3-position selectors you would mount under the dash. I think it came out around 1985.

sirswift93
I have a 2001 CLK320 Cabreolet and was going to purchase the AVIC-z2. However, you guys have me concerned. To resolve the 2ohm issue can't I just replace all the speakers in the car with 4ohm ones? Thanks, Swift
jimmy303
If you read my earlier post in this thread, I explain the system in detail. You could go ahead and replace all your speakers with aftermarket, 5 1/4" separates up front, and, if memory serves me, the same in the rear side panels. Your factory sub will not work anymore, but you may be able to add a small mono amp to run that.
jimmy303
You can also fit a 6" speaker in there. And the harness for power I have had luck with is the Land Rover harness, Metra's 70-9401, I believe.
