fe342185
Hi All, I have a Z110BT in a BMW X5 with a SWI-PS. For some strange reason when I turn on my Fog lights the radio sound for that source shuts off. Its not muted or Att but just off. When I switch sources the volume on that source still works, but when I turn the fog light off then back on again then that sources sound also shuts off. When I switch sources to the a different source the volume slowly responds even though the volume number on the screen has already changed. Anyone know what causes this. I am guessing that there is voltage being sent through the SWI which triggers this response but I dont know what. I'm thinking I would place a resistor on thewire that goes to the SWI. Anyone disagree? Thanks all.
dawgbone
It may be the same issue as the thread posted directly below yours... viewtopic.php?f=58&t=30769 Which appears to be caused by a voltage drop.... If in that case, you would want a capacitor > a resistor...
VBLUE42
That is exactly what I was seeing and described in the other thread. I even got the volume fade in on occasion as well. Look over that thread to see if anything there sounds familiar. It should not have anything to do with the SWI-PS though.
fe342185
Thank you. Reviewed that thread and its exactly whats happening. I still have to add a resistor to the SWI though since the horn presses the band button. it affects the AM/FM/XM only but very annoying and embarassing when you drive a bmw that acts this way.
