djtripd
I finally received my AVIC-Z110BT head unit and XM add-on the other day for my Audi A4. As it turns out it seems that I need a CANBUS adapter to provide ACC, VSS, Reverse and Illumination to the Pioneer HU. After speaking to multiple shops and searching the Internet I'm left rather confused as to what I need (or if I need it) to complete my install. None of the shops I talked to knew, they said very few people add aftermarket HU to Audi's. My Car is a 2003 B6 Audi A4 1.8T non-Bose with the Symphony II head unit currently installed. I have the following things for my Installation: Pioneer AVIC-Z110BT HU Pioneer GEX-P920XM Add-On Pioneer iPod Adapter Audi Power Antenna adapter Audi Double Din Faceplate Kit Scosche Harness Adapter This is what I think I need still: CANBUS Adapter: http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/produc ... /8075.html Anyone have any experience? I just want to know if this is need on my car and if this is the correct adapter. Thanks for any help!
jwq
Why not just get it directly from Pioneer ? http://www.pioneer.eu/files/eur/Interface_2008_november_internetupdate.pdf
djtripd
Why not just get it directly from Pioneer ? http://www.pioneer.eu/files/eur/Interface_2008_november_internetupdate.pdf Only problem seems to be that this won't provide ACC and Illumination. From what I understand without the ACC the radio won't turn off with the car and without the illumination wire the unit won't know to switch into night mode when the headlights are switched on. Still very interesting that Pioneer makes a CANBUS adapter, had no clue.

I'm sure you can get the switched +12 from elsewhere in the car, one of often used places is the cigarette lighter edit: Actually, it also seems to supply the acc

I'm located in Canada so there's no chance of obtaining it here. I'll even order from a place in Europe if need be. Anyone recommend any online retailers? Thanks for all the replies so far, been a huge help!
VBLUE42
Google is your friend. It only appears to be available in Europe.
jwq
As mentioned above, try a search for " CA-R-PI.015 " example: http://www.online-caraudio.co.uk/shop/pioneer-steering-interfaces/audi/ca-r-pi-015-steering-interface-535555.html

Does anyone know of any other places to pick this up or know of another product that will provide the same ACC, Illumination, Reverse and VSS wires? Perhaps PAC product? nothingbutasian
This is what I'm using to install my Z110BT into my B7. http://enfigcarstereo.com/shopsite_sc/s ... AD003.html If you have RNS-E then you need this one. http://enfigcarstereo.com/shopsite_sc/s ... AD002.html You will also need this for both o them, http://enfigcarstereo.com/shopsite_sc/s ... RLEAD.html I'm doing my install next week. This adaptor will allow you to keep stereo controls also....that's the main reason...but as stated on the website...this adaptor will get you "Audi steering wheel control interface with switched +12V, illumination, Speed Pulse, Parking Brake & Reverse Wire." I hope this helps with your install.... quick question for you guys....this company told me that I'll need to by the cage for it as well...is this true?...or does the z110bt already come with the cage and trim?...I should be receiving mine by monday....YAY Joshua
