vruffin
Can someone help me decide on a nav unit for my new car? Ive been a longtime fan of Pioneers Nav units. I started with the Avic9, then Avic D2,D3 and the f700. To be honest i didnt like the f710. Luckily it was stolen and now im thinking which unit would be best. I remember the f710 was really slow and laggy. I want to watch movies and play my ipod. Is the X series that much better than the f series? Will i be able to hack it so i can watch movies while driving? Should i go with the AVIC-U220 and a another head unit? Should i abandon Pioneer and goto eclispse or Kenwood? Thanks again for all your input
1loudls
the new Z is the best, its less buggy and faster than the 700 you had, however eclipse isn't bad either
cranbers
X920bt sounds right up your alley.
JonV
I had the F910BT for about 3 weeks. I swaped it in a F10BT same as the Z110BT and find it much faster and sweet userinterface.
Newman
Yes the X series is much better than the F. Basically, the X is what the F was supposed to have been. All the features are the same but it just works much better. Eclipse no longer makes aftermarket navs so even if you find someone selling them I wouldn't recommend them. The 726E wasnt that great anyway. Kenwoods are fine but are more expensive and probably not worth paying the extra money. Of all the Pioneers I would recommend the X920. Its can be thought of as the next generation of the F/X series. It is very comparible to the Z110BT but actually has newer software for the moment and doesnt cost as much.
