Azimuth
I see there are a tonn of answers to the "which version works?" question, but I wanted to confirm that there is no benefit to using 3rd generation vs 2nd generation vs 1st generation iPod Touch. My main considerations would be faster vr response, resuming playback after power off and quicker fast forwarding than USB data. I have never owned an apple product in my life so I'm clueless when it comes to ipods. Additionally, (although not avic related) do all generations of iTouch have wifi? I'm hoping to have podcasts delivered directly to the device via a podcatcher application. Does generation play a part in this capability? I have seen a 1st generation 16gb model that's a decent price in the classifieds so if that will do what I need, i'll go for that. Thanks in advance for your input. phillyphill39
there wont be any different in the ipod touch models, except for a few cosmetic features. the updates pretty much make them all the same. you'll be fine with your 1st gen ipod, add the songs and get goin. Vdubz
Ithink one of the major differences in the 3rd gen touch is the processor. Think it has the same chip as the 3Gs iPhone. Not sure of that plays a role in how fast the USB data is xferred
VBLUE42
There will be absolutely no performance difference between older and newer touches with the F/X series and the only consideration you should concern yourself with is the capacity of the iPod to hold more content. Azimuth
Thanks Everyone for your input. I bought the 16gb G1. The interface is much better than USB/SD/ROM data. I like it! I have to learn the VR language and then I'll be a happy camper.
