Naylor07
I installed the Z2 into a G35 using a metra 7551 kit that uses RCAs. My sound is very loud on the library source, but on the radio and DVD it is pretty quiet. Is there anyway of increasing the volume?

You can adjust the volume for the different sources, see chapter 16 of the manual: Adjusting source levels Source Level (source level adjustment) lets you adjust the volume level of each source to prevent radical changes in volume when switching between sources. ? Settings are based on the FM tuner volume level, which remains unchanged. 1 Compare the FM tuner volume level with the level of the source you wish to adjust. 2 Touch [source Level] in the Audio Settings menu. 3 Touch [+] or [–] to adjust the source volume. +8 to –8 is displayed as the source volume is increased or decreased. Sources are set to same source level adjustment volume automatically. • CD and ROM (MP3) • XM and SIRIUS • EXT 1 and EXT 2 • AUX and AV INPUT
Naylor07
I did that for the DVD without much for results. As for the FM radio, as stated in the manual it always stays the same.

Check it out: On the DVD source, bump the dB up and on the library, bump them down. For the radio, use the "Volume Control".
Naylor07
I would love to just use the volume control, sadly, it doesn't go past 40.
CaptainInsaneO
What the hell? You really have to have it that high?
dawgbone
What the hell? You really have to have it that high? What kind of interface are we dealing with again? The only time I needed to go to 40 was when I had my PAC interface adjusted too low... I cranked all the dip-switches up, and no longer have that issue... Just throwing it out there..... Naylor07
I wonder if it has something to do with the PAC SWI. I was going to install it, but ran out of time. So currently the wires are there, but the box is not plugged in or spliced into the wheel controls on the vehicle. Is it possible that the Head Unit and the G35 bose ampliflier are not playing nicely? I am really confused why I would have such a low sound output. When it was installed in my BMW if you got past 20-25 it would blow your ears out. Now at 40, it is a little loud, but not loud if the A/C is running full blast.
