gcart2
Okay i took a different approach at this. i have an 05 f-150. HU is in and works awesome. I have everything hooked up except the speedo and reverse. Therefore, if i click my E-brake just a tad and drive down the road i can watch movies and what not. I have a 4 hour drive ahead of myself and my gf. I really dont wanna listen to her for that long . Can i take the wire that goes to the E-brake power indicator, and connect it to another "hot" wire. Wouldnt this make it think the Ebrake is on all the time? thanks Sam
garrettoomey
Yes, but it should be a ground, not hot. Either method you describe will work for a short time, and then you will get an error about the parking brake is not wired correctly. The unit has a gyro internal and it knows when you are moving and how fast you are moving... The only way to avoid the warning is to do the 2 wire bypass as described in the sticky post above.
