URDONE
Is there a step by step somewhere on how to upload custom backrounds on to my Z1? I can't seem to find a clear explaination on how to do this. Sorry for the noob question.
ducatiboy
I liked the one on page 96 of the manual, myself.
URDONE
Can you tell how much of a noob I am? Lol.
URDONE
Okay, here comes another noob question. What does "limit the number of folder hierarchy levels to eight" mean? I use the Roxio DigitalMedia software to make my data cds and music cds, but I have no clue what that means?
ducatiboy
That means you have a Folder inside a folder inside a folder etc... so on and so on till it reaches 8 folders inside folders. If you want to put folders on the CD, fine. If you want folders inside those folders that's ok too... just don't go too "deep" with folders.
URDONE
Ah, I gotcha. I am going to give it a shot. Thanks man
sixonthefloor
Hey I've read the owners manual and have followed the directions as best as I can and still can't get the Z1 to read my disk. I have 100mb of dummy info on my CD-R and put all the backgrounds I want in a folder and labeled it "pictures". Now when I put it in the Z1 it reads the disk and then says CD ROM insterted and when I go to the background screen to select my new folder it's not highlighted. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
ducatiboy
What program did you burn it with? Windows? Nero? What were the settings for the CD Rom? Iso, Mode, etc? What files did you put on there? JPG? What were their names? Were they 8.3 file names or longer? What was the resolution of the jpgs?
bajateam2
Yep, I'm having the same problem. I'm using a plain CD-R and Windows to write the CD. What are you using Ducatiboy? Nero?
ducatiboy
Yes, Nero. Windows burns disks with different settings.
bajateam2
Thanks bro! I'll give that a try and report if it works...
bajateam2
Ducatiboy, using Nero to burn the "Pictures" directory onto the CD fixed the problem. I'm now able to browse through the CD and find photos to use as background images. Thank you for your help...
