Help Finding Reverse Wire

So I just installed the Pioneer AVIC X920BT in my 2007 Infiti G35 Coupe. I am really having a tough time trying to find out where the Purple Reverse Gear Signal Input Wire attaches to the car. I understand the principle, but have not had any luck after a day and a half of searching the internet and poking around the car... I am stumped.

 

I heard something about a purple wire in the kick panel on the drivers side... but that wire did not produce 12v when I put the volt meter on it, and started the car and put it in reverse.

 

So if anyone has a G35 with an AVIC x920bt and a back up camera, and or just knows which wire to connect, I would very much greatly appreciate it.

 

BTW I bought a Boyo VTL375 license plate camera, if that matters.

when all else fails, there will always be a reverse wire at the reverse light in the back of the car (usually near where the camera is going anyways) so why not just tap into that one and run the wire up with the rest of the wires for the camera?
