3 way active setup X930BT

Recommended Posts

I just got a new X930BT and I am doing my first DIY install.

My system consists of the following components:

X930BT

Zapco Reference 360BK 4 ch. amp (mids and tweets)

Zapco Reference 350 2ch. amp (mid bass)

Zapco Reference 750 2 ch. amp (subs)

Zapco DSP6 processor

Image Dynamics IDQ10 v2 (x2) Subs

Oz Audio (old school) 8" (x2) mid bass drivers

RS Audio Pro 165 components 6.5" mids

Vifa 1" silk dome tweets

I am trying to figure out how to best utilize the pre outs on the X930BT.

There are 3 sets of pre-outs which are labeled Front (R/L), Rear (R/L) and Sub (R/L).

My main question is since I am not going to have rear fill speakers, I need to use the Rear (R/L) pre-outs to drive the mids in my system and the Front (R/L) pre-outs to drive the tweeters. I am assuming that there is a fader on the X930 and that I should leave it set right in the middle?

All crossover points and EQ will be set at the signal processor (Zapco DSP6).

Also, Zapco uses balanced (Symbilink)line transmitters, so I will be splitting the sub out signal from the X930. One feed will go to the DSP6 for the mid bass amp and the other feed will go directly to the sub amp (no signal processing), all sub tuning will be done at the sub amp.

So, to summarize, in order to get the same signal level to the midrange channel of the amp (Rear R/L pre out) and tweet channel of the amp (Front R/L pre out) would I just leave the fader set to middle/zero ?

I was not able to find any info in the user manual (pdf) about fader settings.. Thanks!
