garrettoomey
In order to use USB, you would have to upgrade the whole unit to the Z110BT series. The Z1/2/3 does not support USB.

350zx6r
going back to a similar question, i would like to connect my zune and ipod touch to my z1 (upgraded to z3) via AV composite so I can stream video. I have done it in the past but I have noticed that some of the cables are quiet different now. would something like this one work? thanks http://cgi.ebay.com/AV-TV-Video-USB-Cable-iPhone-3G-iPod-Touch-Nano-New-/390310936044?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item5ae0583dec I just do not understand the point of the usb end. thx
350zx6r
This is the description I found on apple.com for a similar product: Connect an iPod, iPhone or iPad to your television with the Apple Composite AV Cable, gather up your friends and watch videos or slideshows together on the big screen. You can also connect the Composite AV Cable to your stereo or powered speakers for a room-filling audio experience. The Composite AV Cable connects to your device or Universal Dock via the 30-pin dock connector and to your TV, home cinema receiver or stereo receiver via the composite video and red/white analog audio ports. The cable also features a USB connector that you can plug in to a power source.

The USB is for charging the device while watching/listening.
350zx6r
thanks, but the usb portion of the cable will be useless right because there no place on the unit to connect to right or is there?

Not on the unit, but you could get a cig lighter adapter that has the USB output for charging.
