js117
Yes it should. You mean you didn't connect the ground from the z1 to anything, or you didn't use the ground in the metra harness. You have power and switched at the z1 harness. I did not connect the ground from the metra harness yet. I connected all of the other wires in the harness that apply. I do have power to the harness when I checked so it should be sending juice to the Z1.
cntrylvr79
Ok is the ground wire of the z1 connected to anything?
js117
Yes, now it is, I had a bad ground so I extended it to a place on the truck I had a good connection. From the Great Carlos Mencia I was a Dee Dee Dee on this one. After I grounded it I was able to power it right up, yet I still can't find that parking brake assembly wire. One last question, will I have to now engage my parking/emergency brake every time I want to set the Nav, this seems like a pain.
cntrylvr79
Yeah pretty much. You're other option would be to do the bypass. Depending on the manufacture date of the z1 will tell which method you use. go here for the bypass info. www.sminntech.com/z1flash.html
