gray-monster
ok let me ask again then, Ive been noticing that my ipod doesnt play on my AVIC D3 unit. just had the fuse replace and everything else is working fine. gray-monster
Any AVIC techs know what the problem could be?
The Tos
In as much detail as i can remember....my avic d3 does not connect with my 5th gen ipod running 1.3 firmware. It does however connect with other iphones and ipod touches. So its safe to assume its the ipod. Is there anyway around this or any solution?
1loudls
the only thing to can try is to update the firmware if there is a newer version available.
The Tos
The current firmware is the most up to date.
1loudls
it does kinda sound like there is either a problem with the ipod or just a compatibility issue with that specific firmware, you could try to take that ipod in to a store and see if it will connect to other radios on display. gray-monster
i have the first generation of the Ipod Video and when i plug it in, nothing happends. When my buddy plugged in his 5th generation ipod, the 'artist' button on the AVIC screen lit up but it said his IPod library was empty. What is most likely the problem, the fireware or the ipod? 1loudls
could be either, always check to make sure that the Ipod is as up to date as possible. does your friend use itunes to load the music on to the ipod? i used to not use itunes, and a lot of my music could not be found through the AVIC. i have the first generation of the Ipod Video... When my buddy plugged in his 5th generation ipod... BTW if you have the first generation of the Ipod video, then you have a 5th gen as well, the 4th gen where the first to have a color screen and show pictures, then with the 5th gen, they gave it a larger screen and gave it video playback. (unless you have a nano, then you have a 3rd gen, but then you wouldn't have a "ipod video", you would have a ipod nano.)
