video play back, ipod adapting, and navigation on Avic N3

Recommended Posts

First off, my gps. It never works properly when I need it the most! I set the gps, and it looks like its working great and the arrow is in the right spot. Then I turn off the car or somthing, and when I turn it back on the arrow is nowhere close to where it should be. Sometimes it eventually fixes itself when i'm driving, and somtimes it never gets around to fixing itself. I installed it myself so maybe I did something wrong with the settings on the system or somthing. Any ideas?

Next up, Video playback on my n3. Does the n3 suport like mpegs or anything good like this? Is there any way to make it play video files off the computer? Or must I first turn them into dvds. Also has anyone done any experimenting with trying to get visualizations playing while driving?

Same question regarding ipod adapting. If I get one of those video ipods, will I be able to play the videos from the ipod on the Avic N3? Or just the songs?

Year/make/model of vehicle would be helpful. Is the vss wire hooked up.

From my understanding you'll have to turn them into dvds.

No becuase the unit isn't capable of doing that without rewriting the software. The closest you get is the stupid "animations" built into the unit.

That depends if you get the pioneer ipod interface then you'll only be able to play songs. You can get an av adaptor to do songs and video however you'll have to control the ipod from the wheel and not the screen like the interface allows you to.

In the end a search would have helped since these questions have already been answered.
