offroadzj
I was talking to someone the other day and I think they were blowing smoke, but I wanted to check with the pros just in case. They were telling me that there is a module of sorts that you can get for the Z series that will take multiple gauge inputs and display it on the screen. He said that it had multiple inputs for oil pressure, oil temp, water temp, etc. I can't find anything online at all so I'm thinking its a bunch of BS... but it would be awesome if it did exist! garrettoomey
Older z series had them built in. Oil pressure, engine oil temp, water temp?? I call BS. All Z1, Z2, and Z3 have a Vehicle Dynamics Display that will provide: voltage, Acceleration, Side Acceleration, Angular Velocity, Slope, Direction, and clock. Nothing about engine diagnostics. VBLUE42
Sounds like he was actually mistaken for the Kenwood DNX9980HD which offers an accessory with those capabilities.
jwq
Pioneer used to have the AVG-VDP1, but that also only displayed performance related items, no engine guages (OBD) etc.... link AVG-VDP1 and link: description
TBSS
Check out Demon 8 Designs they sell a module to integrate aftermarket OBD2 devices displays to video input devices. You can send it to a in-dash display or a rearview mirror monitor.
dahozzman
I'm running the HKS CAMP through my Z2. It gives me Boost, High Temp (EGT), Low (water) temp, and narrow band Air/Flow. Also gives me RPM, Injector duty and a few other things typically found in a car computer (avg mpg, etc). I'm currently exploring if an interface can be built that would allow the engine information available from my Haltech 1000 can display on my Z2. Anyone with thoughts on this latter approach, please message me.
