Noob Z2 - couple of questions

Recommended Posts

Thank you for the fast response,

While searching the net I found available upgrades for the Z2:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/140452866505?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%3A80%2Fsch%2Fi.html%3F_from%3DR40%26_trksid%3Dp5197.m570.l1313%26_nkw%3D140452866505%26_sacat%3DSee-All-Categories%26_fvi%3D1&_rdc=1

Is it a Hoax? Or it's possible to upgrade the the systems firmware & maps?

I found the recording info in the manual, thank you again for your help.

Recording a CD manually

You can record only your favorite tracks in the CD.

1 [REC Mode] is set to [Manual]. âž² “Setting the CD recording mode” âžž Page 158

The REC Mode cannot be changed during recording.

2 Play back the track you want to record.

3 Touch [REC].

The track being played is recorded.

When recording finishes, the system returns to the normal playback screen of the CD in the end of the track.

To cancel the recording, touch [Stop].

The difference between the Z1, Z2 and Z3 is only software/firmware, not hardware.

So any Z1 or Z2 can be updated to a Z3, with latest maps etc.

I will give you a small piece of advice. Stay away from eBay for doing anything to your unit. Once you buy something, you got no help if something goes wrong.

If you want to update/upgrade your unit, Mr. Garret Toomey is the SOURCE for all things AVIC. He has some services that you can do and he WILL help you if anything goes wrong, and prices are awesome. PM him any questions you may have, he is #2 in this thread.

I am a repeat customer of Garret's and he in no way asked me to endorse him in anyway.
