heyredy141
Hello, I am unable to turn off the screen on my Z130BT until I put the parking brake on. I understand that navigation input and video does not work till the parking brake is on but I did not expect the screen off function not to work. Is this normal? VBLUE42
Are you saying the unit will not power off until the parking brake is applied? If that is what you are saying it means you have a screwed up install.
heyredy141
That is exactly what I am saying. Hmm.. Is there some sort of wiring diagram from Pioneer harness to Scosche HA08B / HA08. I got this installed by an installer and it would be helpful to have him refer to this if available. VBLUE42
Take it back and have therm fix it. If its a professional installer they should have numerous resources to do it right and fix it. After it is fixed, never go back!
heyredy141
Are you doubly sure that you are able to turn off the display if you do not have your parking brake on? The reason why I am asking it is odd on how everything else is working but this and illumination and traffic tuner. Anyways, I am going back to him and I got the below for him to make sure he does it right this time. heyredy141
Just for the benefit of others, I confirmed that this is working as expected. Pioneer disabled screen off feature when not parked by design though it is stupid on why they did it.
VBLUE42
If you turn your car off and the unit does not power down unless you pull your parking brake, something is wrong.
heyredy141
Sorry, that is not what I meant. Unit powers on when the car starts and powers off when the car is turned off. There is an option to switch off the display without turning off the unit by holding the home button for about 5 seconds. This works only when the parking brake is on and not when the vehicle is in motion.
WilliamG
Yes that doesn't work unless you do the bypass. It's by design (and not very intelligent).
jnmarshall
Not sure what is being referred to as "off" here. I'm not aware of anyway to explicitly turn off the power like on a traditional stereo. On my unit you can turn the radio "off" by pressing the "off" button on the left side with the modes. You can also turn the screen display off by pressing and holding home for 2 or 3 seconds. This just turns off the display, but music and such still plays. Those are the only two "off"s I'm aware of.
