madonionrings Posted November 30, 2011 Report Share Posted November 30, 2011 I recently purchased a vehicle with the Z1 installed by the prior owner. Its a unit but I wanted to wipe it clean so I wouldn't have any traces of the prior owner and their personal settings. During this I made the mistake of hitting the front dash mounted reset button with a pen while the unit was still on. It seemed to reboot fine, but it gets stuck at the pioneer splash screen and won't go any further. Prior to hitting the reset button the unit worked fine! I tried holding down the map button so I could get the pop-up menu for a full erase but nothing happens. Did I corrupt the HDD and need to reload the software? Is there a way I can check this out for what could be wrong? I called pioneer but they want $230 to fix it and were totally unhelpful over the phone. Someone help!
