Rex13
Avic z130:iphone 4 IOS 5 Brake bypass done 2002 Subaru Impreza WRX genuine Pioneer cable When connected to the head unit (using the cable) my phone buttons are greyed out ipod and other functions work fine I am not sure if this is a result of doing the bypass or just coincidence Confident the bypass was done correctly Any ideas? JasonH
The phone button is for Bluetooth.
Rex13
I have had the unit for a week and my phone buttons worked while cable was connected before doing the bypass. But since the bypass the phone buttons are greyed out...every other functions seems to be working fine though
RonS
Do you get the "connected" message after booting when your phone connects over BT? If not, re-pair. If you do get that message, then your bypass isn't correct (possibly the moved pin isn't making contact). Can you enter a destination in the NAV? Any other functions grayed out? Rex13
Yes, I can connect over bluetooth and it works fine. I am able to enter a destination just fine in Nav. All other functions seem to work fine. I do see a few other things greyed out like Avic Feeds, cancel route and route overview in the Nav section but can not recall what they were like before the bypass. ALL phone buttons are greyed out. JasonH
Your phone is probably paired as audio and not hands free and audio.
Rex13
how do you pair it as both?
JasonH
It's in the AVIC bluetooth settings, select the phone, it will show the pairing options.
Rex13
I am not trying to connect through bluetooth. I can do that fine. I am trying to connect and use the phone through the direct cable.....all buttons are still greyed out.
JasonH
As I said before, the phone button is for Bluetooth, it has NOTHING to do with the cable.
Rex13
You did say that but that confuses me because I thought I was able to use the phone menu/buttons while connected to the cable (and not bluetooth) before though.
JasonH
Bluetooth is normally always connected in the background, with or without the cable connected.
Rex13
Hmmmm.... I usually don't turn my bluetooth on so I must have only checked all of this out when it was accidently still connected and didn't realize that the cable only worked for the ipod, pandora function and not the phone too. Wow...this would have saved me a TON of time....I spent so much time on this forum looking for what could have happened. UGH! Thank you though!
