troydavies
I'm just a regular guy when it comes to car radios. In my opinion. my z130bt is better than the newer z140bh. To me, the biggest problem is that the z140bh removed voice control inputing directions and finding POIs. I have no idea why they did this, but it is a fatal flaw. And since I don't care about Pandora, not much into Aha, and I don't have an Iphone, I don't see how the z140bh will help me. As far as speed, maybe the z140bh is just a little faster, but it's not such a big deal one way or the other. I don't know if anyone else has noticed this, but I really think the z140bh is a DOWNGRADE from the z130bt. I am also seeing the prices for the 140bh dropping down and sometimes below the 130bt. I think Pioneer dropped the ball on this one. Can anyone suggest a reason for my keeping the 140bh and not returning it and getting a 130bt?
RonS
I think you answered your own question. I don't think I'll be upgrading the software on my 130 either when released this summer.
troydavies
I guess the direction of my question is why? Why would Pioneer release an inferior product and tout it as an upgrade? I just hope I'm not missing anything here.
VBLUE42
It is feudal to ask why when it comes to Pioneer or any of these head unit manufactures. Kenwood recently did the same thing with their new unit and people are asking why. But we have been asking why about Pioneer sense I've been on this forum so it is likely you will never get an answer that makes sense.
RonS
How do we get video from htc evo 4g to avic z110bt ex Netflix Way off topic. Start a new thread.
Alky181
I called Pioneer before I purchased the z130bt. I read the description on the z140bh and it said that the voice controls were absent. I called to verify this and in deed it was. So, I purchased the z130 over the z140.
stargate125645
The voice recognition for POI and addresses is slow and sluggish. It gets simple things like "Omaha" incorrect, so my guess is they just gave up making it work properly. Pure conjecture, though. Aren't the map features better with the 140BH, though? Alky181
It probably just has some updated roads. Nothing special.
stargate125645
Wait...if they got rid of voice recognition, does the push-to-talk steering wheel button just go to the contacts list then?
Alky181
Not sure

To me, the biggest problem is that the z140bh removed and finding POIs. Can you confirm the search by POI was removed - that sounds silly - it's one of the only things I use for nav... RonS
Yeah, Pioneer finally found a way to reduce bootlegging of their paid upgrade software, make the newer version worse than the previous model.
