clk Posted August 17, 2012 Report Share Posted August 17, 2012 Hi i have a z1 with the latest upgrade i installed it on a bmw e39 2000 and i didn't connect the pink wire or the purple wire. i know that the pink wire is for the speed pulse i don't know what the purple wire is for or where to connect it but the radio seems to be working fine with the navigation. it's calibrating and it reconizes the roads. my questions is do i still have to connect it to the vss wire on my car or is it possible that it's not necesarry to connect it. thank you Quote Link to post Share on other sites
garrettoomey Posted August 17, 2012 Report Share Posted August 17, 2012 It will work without the VSS connected, but it will be more accurate (and less drifting) with the VSS connected. the Purple wire is the reverse wire and mostly used for the backup camera. Quote Link to post Share on other sites
