Ripley
I have an X920BT and I'm having trouble connecting an iPod photo 30gb to it. I'm getting the error Authorization Failed. I searched around but haven't been able to find any real clue as to what would cause it. The iPod works fine. Its recognized by my PC and in iTunes. I am connecting it with the Apple 30 pin cable. Which brings me to the second part. Do I have to use the CD-IU50 cable? Or can I just use the Apple cable and a 3.5mm male to male?
pionara
yes you need CD-IU50. The apple usb cable only will not give you any audio. Also, have you updated the software on the x920bt? what version is it running?
Ripley
Its running the latest version. I know that the Apple cable won't give me audio that's why I was also running the 3.5mm male to male. What I was curios about is if the system identified the Pioneer cable somehow and only allowed it to work with that one.
Ripley
So after some more testing I found that you can use the Apple 30 pin cable and a separate 3.5mm M-M cable. But it appears that its my iPod that's incompatible. I have a, what I believe is, 4th generation iPod Photo. My wife has a 5th generation iPod video. My iPod doesn't work with my Pioneer or in her Nissan Rogue. But her iPod works in her car and with my stereo. So I'm now shopping for a new iPod.
