armadacu
Hello- I had the parking break bypass installed and everything is working except when I go over 10 MPH. I have the Pioneer X920BT HU. I have been told that you need to cut the pink wire (VSS) wire, but i'm not sure where to find it. Is it the black harness or the white harness? Also, I located two different pink wires on the black harness. One is a dark pink that looks to be tied up to something (possibly the steering wheel control PAC) and then there is a light pink wire that doesn't look like it is connected to anything. Can anyone shed some light on how to disconnect this VSS wire so I get full video capabilities over 10 MPH? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
JasonH
The bypass has nothing to do with the VSS. If it's not working, it's not bypassed correctly.
armadacu
They installed a switch that you flip on and off. You don't have to apply the parking break to watch video like before. The video only goes off when you go over 10 MPH so it technically works. If you flip the switch off it doesn't play video at all unless you are in park and the parking break is on. Do you have any suggestions?
JasonH
That's not the bypass; all they did was put a switch on the parking break which doesn't do anything. Actual bypass: http://avic411.com/index.php?showtopic=14761
armadacu
Okay, thank you very much. My last question is the thread you brought me to say to move the yellow wire up a level and four spots over. In the youtube video below for my model HU it says to just remove the yellow wire and move it over one spot to the left. Can you confirm which is accurate? Thanks again
armadacu
Also, this should allow me to watch video at 65 mph regardless of the VSS?
JasonH
The (correct) bypass allows for full features at any speed.
armadacu
Thanks. Which bypass is correct? There are two different ones. One where you move the yellow wire over one spot and one where you move it up and over four spots. I have the X920BT. Can you tell me which bypass method to use please? JasonH
I believe on the 920 it's over one spot.
