Using an iPad Mini w/AppRadio

[i originally posted this in the Nav section since I will be using a Z150 or an X950 in Appradio Mode but it may have been the wrong place to post.]

 

I wanted to try and confirm the following:

 

1) Will an iPad Mini or iPad 3 work in App Radio mode?  It's not supported on Pioneer's site and from what I've read, it's due to screen size/resolution issues?  Perhaps App Radio was designed for the iPhone screen size only?

 

2) If it does in fact work on a regular App Radio, would it work on a NAV unit in App Radio mode?  Is there any difference between a regular App Radio and the NAV unit other than NAV built in?
