14.4volts Posted May 8, 2013 Report Share Posted May 8, 2013 Thought some of you may find this useful, The A/V adapter you need to use your Iphone 5 is a pain because of its short pig tail connector. Meaning you have an HDMI cabel a Lightning cabel and then the stupid A/V adapter hangin out of your dash some place just to plug your phone in. I found this a few weeks back and got it last week, Havent installed it yet. As far as I know its the only Lightning cable EXT. This means you can leave the HDMI cabel and everything in the dash and have just one small cabel coming out. Was actually thinking of something like this the other day. What I would like to see if if you could make it a plug mount in the dash instead of just a cable dangling there. Patiently waiting the results though.. i will turn the short pigtail from the av adapter into a socket in the dash with some fiberglass .. Then just plug this extension in. I didnt set up email notification here so I had no idea anyone replied to the thread and I've been super busy. The plug side IS SUPER BIG, if you have a life proof case or sim you'll need shave the plug down as it wont fit, it does work flawlessly though. Quote Link to post Share on other sites

Build a mold and epoxied into a removable panel in the DASH.. Now no cable dangling and only one needed running from dash to phone when wanted. Quote Link to post Share on other sites
