ryan0574
I want to install Z1 in an 03 Lincoln LS. Crutchfield, Circuit City, and Best Buy websites say it wont fit. I cant believe this is true. I have an in dash 6 cd changer with double din. Can anyone tell me if this will fit or not?
cntrylvr79
To my knowledge there is no double din kit made for that car. That is why you're being told that it wouldn't fit. Now I will refer you o my favorite saying. For the right price nothing is impossible. In otherwords you or whomever does the install will have to fabricate a kit for the car. whtcrxghst
I have seen it done. Looks good once its in there, will take some custom work though
travisj315
I own a 2003 Lincoln Ls, and I had the Z1, but you have to build a custom bracket to support the radio. I could have had it done for the right price, but I just exchanged the radio for the Avic-N3 and i was pretty happy. I have pictures on www.cardomain.com if you wanna check it out. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2380386
patbm1930
You can get the double din faceplate for an 03 from any dealer. I know specifically teamfordparts.com has it for a reasonable price. check out lincolnvscadillac.com a do a search, quite a few people over there have done this. I plan on getting the Z2 as soon as it comes out and taking this route
cntrylvr79
I stand corrected. While this is technically NOT a kit, it will make the process of installing an avic easier. http://www.teamfordparts.com/partlocato ... logid=4014 The part you need is the first item in the third row. Part number is LSCXB7756 Thanks to the above poster for the info. See even the master postwhore learns something new from this place. Thanks again.
patbm1930
i also had a local high end installer quote me 200 for a custom face plate (without this piece). he drives an 04 ls so it wouldnt be "overly" expensive to start from scratch. ...Ken over at lskoncepts.com also sells it.
