crazycaucazian86 Posted February 22, 2007 Report Share Posted February 22, 2007 Rear view camera works when i go into reverse, works perfectly, but when I drive and I select the option to see rear view camera while im driving with the map on the side, the space is black....I was just curious if there was a setting I need to flip or is there something I'm missing here. tillithz Posted February 22, 2007 Report Share Posted February 22, 2007 power for your camera is obviously on the reverse wire then. a switch or putting camera onto acc, would give you viewability anytime the avic is on, of course thats more wear and tear on the camera, which will shorten its operating life span, but I had it running like that for 2 years + with no problems. crazycaucazian86 Posted February 22, 2007 Author Report Share Posted February 22, 2007 i was just in the garage right now messing around with the setup> camera settings but im only able to get the camera to pop up when im in reverse...thats when the camera is showing picture on the whole screen, but when i take it out of reverse when i want to drive with the navi on in its jsut a black box....what switch are you referring to? and or how to i put my camera onto acc? cntrylvr79 Posted February 22, 2007 Report Share Posted February 22, 2007 You have to pyshically change the power connection on the camera. Right now your camera's power supply is wired to the reverse wire. It must be moved to a switched power source. The easiest place to find that would be the red wire on the avic harness. tillithz Posted February 22, 2007 Report Share Posted February 22, 2007 doesnt the power wire go close with the video rca plug? if so, you had to get that to the back of the avic unit anyways, so take it out and make your connection at the back of the avic unit also.
