Bak
Hi everyone, I've bought the Z150BH (F50BT in Europe) and I have a question concerning music on SDHC card : Do you know how is sorted the mp3 files in the different albums folders ? I have a folder for each albums with songs in mp3 in it. My songs are named like : 01 - song name, 02 - song name, etc so I can find them in order as well in the Avic. But, for some folders, songs are displayed (randomly ?) like 05, then 10, then 02, then 08, etc ! The option "Random read" is of course disabled. So, your thoughts or ideas are welcome Thanks
giblets46
They are played in the order they were added, rather than numerical or alphabetical order. There is some freeware like drive sort that allows you to do this, more threads on the subject if you search for them
Bak
Thanks giblets I copy my files with more caution so that they can be in the right order. Nonetheless, It makes me hurt my head to know that a piece of technology like the Avics cannot do a simple alphabetical sort like that... Maybe in a future firmware.... It's been a Pioneer problem for a long time. My last head unit wouldn't sort properly either. And if you go large on your card, it'll take forever for your unit to start playing music as it has to index the files every time the unit powers up. That's why I got an iPod Classic. It's not a perfect solution - every now and then, the head unit will lock up the iPod, requiring a restart on the iPod. That too was an issue with the last head unit. bart41
Download a program called "DriveSort" What it does it you can go into each folder and use the Sort feature to allow your music to be sorted by Alphabetical Order. Make sure you click "Save" for each folder after you save or else no changes will be made.
