RonS
I have a z110bt, with 2012 maps and firmware. I do not have the ND-TMC10 tuner. (Well, I have it - but it is not installed). How does my AVIC calculate route conditions, when it has no traffic tuner input? It doesn't. It uses your current location, the parameters you've chosen (fastest, shortest, tolls, etc) and calculates the route. The unit might recal the route periodically - I'm not sure. If the traffic tuner is installed (extremely easy once you have access to the back of the HU), it will occasionally issue warnings about traffic conditions and offer to re-route. This has only happened to me once or twice - which I declined since the conditions were several hours away and I figured that it would be gone.
Lou2OC
Getting to the back of the unit is a problem. It's a nice car, and I don't wanna start tearing things out of the dash that I might not be able to get back in
