darinb123
I was considering this unit for navigaton in my 05 GMC Sierra 2500HD truck..... I like my Bose factory radio the way it is. I like the large screen and the fact that I can mount it in the lower opening in my console. When I dont need it the screen is safely out of the way and the faceplate is removable and maybe less likely to get stolen.... My question is: Can I use one of these units without the stereo part??????? I'm just wanting it for navigation purposes, no dvd's or stuff. I could care less too even hear voice promps either. Our local stereo shops aren't able too answer this, so I thought I would see if one of you guys could perhaps. I thought this would be a simpler install since so many of the wires won't even be hooked up per say. Thanks, Darin
whtcrxghst
Of course you can, just need to hook up power, ground, the gps antenna, VSS wire, and reverse if you ever plan on adding a camera. Seems like it would be convenient to get the voice prompts and stuff too though
slyk
Thats true. However, it might be a little much if you're using it just for navigation! I would suggest other units, but I think the N-series is the only one with a retractable screen.. I guess if you can afford it, do it!
